This week I will be attending my high school reunion. It was forty years ago (Class of 1973) that I graduated from Olympus High School. It’s hard to believe that it’s been that long ago. Time flies when you’re having fun.
This past year my old school, (which was built back in the 50’s), was torn down and replaced with a beautiful new structure. On April 8, 2013, the new Olympus High School opened its doors to its 1,700 member student body.
During the construction of this building the general contractor, (Okland Construction), needed to elevate the floor in many of the classrooms and auditoriums. It was determined the best cost effective, durable, and time saving solution for stadium seating was to use EPS Geofoam.
The Geofoam blocks were cut to the sizes and shapes needed, then easily installed to bring the floor to the desired heights. The Geofoam was then covered with a 3” concrete topping slab. As a graduate of Olympus High School it has been enjoyable and rewarding being involved in supplying the Geofoam for my “old” I mean “new” High School.
